DESCRIPTION:
The course is delivered through nine hours of pre-recorded lessons and 21 hours of job embedded assignments. It is a self-paced, online course. The pre-recorded lessons are grouped into three topics: (1) increasing student participation in co-curricular career and technical student organizations (CTSO); (2) increasing the quality of CTSOs through a Program of Activities or Work, and the selection of a CTSO advisor; and (3) increasing student achievement of skills through collaboration between the CTSO advisor and CTE teachers.

There is one job embedded assignment at the completion of each of the three topics. In Section 1, Learners will work with CTSO advisors and students to overcome deterrents to student participation. In Section 2, learners will create a job description that identifies the administrative expectations of the role and responsibilities of the advisor. Learners will collaborate with CTSO advisors to create and implement a broad range of activities through an annual Program of Activities. In Section 3, learners will collaborate with career and technical teachers to ensure inclusion of academic, leadership, career education and work skills, and recognition of these skills in individual student portfolios.
