TARGET AUDIENCE: Directors, Assistant Directors, Aspiring Directors, and Principals

DATES/LOCATIONS: October 20, 2025 – Online Synchronous

PIL HOURS TO BE AWARDED: 30

DESCRIPTION: The New Director Academy – Part 1 is a 30-hour PIL for new directors (less than five years of experience), current administrators aspiring to the director’s position, or current directors who desire a more in-depth understanding of the critical aspects of their roles and responsibilities and desire to network with their peers. The course will be delivered via an introductory 3-hour session, followed by 8 1-hour sessions, and a 3-hour report out session. All sessions will be delivered in an online synchronous format via Zoom and the project outcome of the course will be the development or redesign of the school/center’s Supervision and Evaluation Plan. There will be extended class sessions available for one-on-one mentoring as requested, in addition to one mentoring session to review project progress. This will allow participants to maintain contact with the course/project facilitator to provide the maximum opportunity for participants to be able to gain the knowledge and skills necessary to answer the essential questions and to fulfill the 16 hours of job-embedded assignments. Course topics include supervision and evaluation; leadership; and connecting supervision, evaluations, and leadership to student achievement.
