COVID-19 Vaccine Updates

Colleagues,
The purpose of this communication is to share updates specific to the COVID-19 vaccine. First, I want to acknowledge that one of the most pressing issues you currently face as LEA leaders is the status of the COVID-19 vaccination for school personnel. You care deeply about the safety and well-being of the members of your team as well as your broader school communities, and vaccines are an important part of your future considerations. I appreciate the many challenges you are navigating in an effort to return to in-person instruction as safely and quickly as possible.
In order to assist you in planning for the weeks and months ahead, my desire is to share vaccine updates from the Pennsylvania Department of Health (DOH) as soon as they are made available to us. The first of a new series of weekly vaccine distribution updates from the DOH is attached to this email. As the DOH releases additional weekly updates to stakeholders at the end of each week, I will make sure a copy is emailed to you. Additionally, I encourage you to continue to review and share the link to the DOH's vaccine website, which is home to important, helpful information that can be shared with your school communities.
We all know that these are unprecedented circumstances – we have never experienced a public health crisis like this in our lifetimes. Thank you for continuing to tackle each challenge, break down barriers, and do everything possible to support and serve your students and school communities.
