Job Title: Workforce Development Coordinator

Job Description: QUALIFICATIONS
Candidate must be a graduate of an accredited college or university and hold a proper Pennsylvania professional certification.
Master’s degree required.
PDE Cooperative Education certificate preferred.
Five (5) years of successful experience in public education as a teacher or counselor is necessary, including elementary or secondary school instruction.
Valid Pennsylvania Certification

Act 34, Act 151 clearance, FBI fingerprinting and all required paperwork
Demonstrate aptitude for fulfillment of assigned performance responsibilities.
Must be able to make sound judgments and interact well with staff, students and parents.
Must have a valid Driver’s License and an acceptable driving record.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Identify, develop and maintain workforce development partnerships, industry sector partnership leads, and pipeline programs.
Develop program marketing materials to advertise program specifics and form industry partnerships.
Network with potential industry-based partners.
Recruit and develop employer relationships as mentors. Provide training for workplace mentors.
Develop effective working relationships with employers and maintain regular contact to monitor student performance.
Advertise, publicize, and recruit students for workforce placements.
Conduct stakeholder workshops on local, state, and regional job market trends.
Assess the staffing needs of businesses and track employment placement and retention outcomes for program participants.
Assist students with resume creation, facilitate mock interviews, provide quality referrals to employers for employment and maintain an updated internal candidate pool.
Organize, plan, and execute workforce development events as necessary for various assigned projects.
Supervise students in the field.
Coordinate students’ schedules to include seminars and field placements.
Coordinate workplace tours for students and staff (elementary, middle, and high school)
Support students in achievement of graduation pathway requirements including developing and facilitating industry-based credentialing, service-learning projects, internship/pre-apprenticeship/ cooperative programs, and workforce readiness assessments.
Facilitate and monitor community outreach projects/philanthropic projects for high school students.
Serve as a liaison for technical school and dual enrollment as it pertains to workforce development and preparation.
Organize Teacher in the Workplace professional development.
Recruit content speakers for classroom teachers
Support applicable areas of the District’s K-12 Guidance Plan
Serve as lead-teacher or co-teacher for high school courses related to workforce development.
Maintain efficient and effective documentation.
Analyze data on students’ postsecondary outcomes.
Collaborate with Special Education Transition Coordinator to ensure workplace opportunities for students with special needs.
