Job Description: Mon Valley Career & Technology Center is seeking a qualified and motivated Welding Instructor to prepare high school students for successful careers in the welding and manufacturing industries.
The successful candidate will provide hands-on instruction in welding processes, fabrication, safety, blueprint reading, measurement, equipment operation, and related technical skills while maintaining a safe, structured, industry-focused learning environment.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum of four years of documented wage-earning industry experience in welding or a closely related field preferred
• Strong knowledge and practical experience with welding processes, fabrication, equipment, and industry safety practices
• Ability to teach and demonstrate skills to high school students with varying levels of experience
• Commitment to workplace readiness, professionalism, safety, and developing students to industry standards
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Current industry certifications are preferred
• Pennsylvania CTE teaching certification is preferred but not required at the time of hire; qualified industry professionals may be eligible to pursue appropriate Pennsylvania CTE certification
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Welding Instructor will provide classroom and hands-on laboratory instruction; demonstrate and reinforce proper welding techniques and safety procedures; evaluate student skill development; prepare students for industry credentials and employment; maintain equipment and an organized welding laboratory; and work collaboratively with employers, advisory committee members, families, and CTC staff.
