Summary of Position:
Primarily responsible for innovative and visionary leadership as the Principal of the Chester County Technical College High School, Brandywine campus. The principal has a thorough understanding of preparing secondary students for postsecondary success. The principal drives the school’s mission to provide students with exceptional technical skills, real-world experiences and academic excellence preparing them for meaningful careers in today’s rapidly evolving job market.
The principal oversees the daily operations of the Career & Technical school, to include: marketing of programs and the benefits of CTE, community outreach, evaluation of all staff, curriculum development, alignment of national standards, budget management, occupational advisory committees, program and building renovations, program safety, NOCTI Testing, and the development of new programs. The principal will also need to participate in the application & admissions process for all new students, oversee the coordination of all standardized testing, and Perkins funding distribution and documentation. In addition, both formal & informal evaluations of Career & Technical instructors, academic instructors, school crisis response activities, equipment grants when available, coordinate building evacuation drills, define staff duty assignments, conduct liaison counselor meetings & activities, oversee the extra-curricular and co-curricular activities, and school assemblies. This will require the development of various Professional Development Committees (PLC), coordination of customer service with business & industry and post-secondary partnerships. Monitor support staff supervision of those who work with student attendance, accounting, instructional assistants and organize the building for instruction that is focused on improving student achievement.

Essential Duties and Program/Budget Responsibilities:
• Develop and execute a strategic vision for career and technical education that aligns with industry trends, educational standards, and the needs of the community.
• Collaborate with faculty and industry partners to design and implement cutting-edge, industry-relevant curricula that integrate technical skills and academic knowledge.
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that motivates students to excel in both their technical and academic pursuits.
• Support and guide educators in creating engaging and effective instructional strategies that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with local businesses, industries, and community organizations to provide students with valuable hands-on experiences, internships, and job placement opportunities.
• Provide ongoing professional development opportunities for faculty and staff to enhance their teaching techniques, industry knowledge, and leadership skills.
• Utilize data analysis to assess student performance, identify areas for improvement, and make informed decisions that drive the school’s success.
• Collaborate with parents, students, teachers, and staff to create a supportive and engaging school culture that promotes academic achievement and personal growth.
• Ensure the school’s compliance with relevant educational regulations, standards, and accreditation requirements.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:
• Master’s or Doctorate degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field
• Principal certification required
• A minimum of 5 years of educational leadership experience in a secondary school
• Prior teaching experience in CTE programs is preferred
Professional Certifications:
• Secondary Principal’s Certificate required
• Vocational Director’s Certificate preferred

Salary Range: (2023 – 2024)
Administrators, Level E, $124,802 – $156,002
* Placement on band is based on years of direct experience in a comparable role.
260 day position, 7.5 hours per day, 5 days per week
