Job Description: The Career Institute of Technology (CIT) is seeking a highly qualified educational leader to serve as a Principal in a part-time career and technical center serving approximately 900 high school students from Bangor, Easton, Nazareth, Pen Argyl and Wilson Area School Districts.
This is a full-time, 12-month Act 93 administrative position responsible for assisting with the day-to-day operations of the school and providing leadership and supervision for students, instructional staff, student services and educational programming.
Qualifications:
• Pennsylvania Principal Certification is required.
• Minimum of two years of demonstrated administrative experience; experience and proficiency in Career and Technical Education preferred.
• Minimum of five years of teaching experience; experience in a Career and Technical Education setting preferred.
• Excellent organizational, leadership, human relations and verbal/written communication skills.
Job Description:
The principal provides leadership and oversight for the daily operations of CIT. Major responsibilities include; student discipline and attendance; school safety; supervision of school police department, student services, special education and cooperative education; recruitment, admissions, enrollment and scheduling; professional development; testing and assessment; supervision and evaluation of professional and support staff; and collaboration with CIT’s five sending school districts, parents, staff and community partners.
The successful candidate must demonstrate strong educational leadership and school safety, sound judgment, effective communication and relationship-building skills, and the ability to collaborate with students, staff, families, sending districts and other CIT stakeholders. The principal will also participate in recruitment and hiring, school committees, safety initiatives, and other administrative responsibilities necessary to support the effective operation of CIT.
