Job Description: Northern Westmoreland Career and Technology Center (NWCTC) is seeking an experienced, dynamic leader to fill the position of Principal/Supervisor of CTE. The ideal candidate will embrace and promote the NWCTC mission to prepare all students for careers, post-secondary education, and life-long learning by providing knowledge and practical skills through high quality, integrated, standards-driven curriculum, access to current technologies, work-related experiences, and partnerships within the community.
NWCTC is a career and technical center that services approximately 570 students in grades 9-12.
Established in 1978, NWCTC is located in New Kensington, Pennsylvania and serves students from Burrell School District, Kiski Area School District, Franklin Regional School District, and New Kensington-Arnold School District.
NWCTC’s students are exposed to Pennsylvania Department of Education’s Programs of Study through technical theory and applications in laboratories as well as off-campus, work-based experiences. Curriculum is provided in ways that create personal meaning and direct career relevance for the students. NWCTC offers 13 unique state-approved career programs, many of which offer students opportunities to obtain industry-aligned certifications and college credits by the time they reach graduation.
Responsibilities: Provide assistance and support in the administration of the total school mission including student management, daily operations of the school in concert with the Administrative Director, and policies established by the Joint Operating Committee.
• Collaborate with sending school administrators to support NWCTC students
• Engage actively in professional development and stay abreast of best practices in CTE
• Assist in the development and implementation of NWCTC’s education programs
• Induct, supervise, mentor, and develop staff and students
Qualifications:
• Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) Supervisor of Career and Technical Education Certificate and/or Pennsylvania Principal Certification K-12
• Experience in Special Education preferred
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders
• Existing leadership in a school setting desired
• Commitment to continuous improvement and a passion for promoting student achievement and success
Terms: Full-time, 210-day administrative contract
Compensation: A regionally-competitive salary, full benefits, and retirement package will be offered to the successful candidate.
