Job Description: Join our friendly cafeteria team and help provide nutritious meals to our students each day! Berks Career & Technology Center (BCTC) is seeking a part-time, 10-month, permanent Cafeteria Worker to join our East Campus team at the start of the 2026–2027 school year.
Qualifications: High school diploma or GED. Experience in food service and/or customer service preferred. Must be able to communicate and interact effectively with students and staff. Operate a computerized point-of-sale (POS) system is preferred. Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
Duties & Responsibilities: Food preparation, portioning, serving meals, washing dishes, sanitation and light housekeeping duties.
Physical Requirements: This position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting/carrying materials and supplies, with occasional lifting of up to 40 pounds as part of normal cafeteria operations.
Work Schedule: Daily working hours: 8 am to 1 pm. (off during the summer).
Salary and Benefits: Starting salary is $15.00/hour with annual increases. Personal days are awarded annually. Monthly contributions made into the school PSERS retirement system and free lunch daily!
