JOB DESCRIPTION
TITLE: Part-Time Business Manager
DEPARTMENT: Administration
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor’s degree in business administration/accounting; MBA or CPA preferred.
2. At least five (5) years of previous experience in school business management. 3.
3. Experience in supervising electronic budget and accounting systems.
4. Strong communication skills: ability to communicate with other employees in a positive manner.
5. Training, experience, and proficiency in using computers and Microsoft Software including but not limited to Word and Excel.
6. Training, experience, and proficiency with various software systems including but not limited to Windows, CSIU, Pro Soft.
7. Experience in completing government reports including federal, state, and local reports.
8. Such other alternatives to the above qualifications as may be determined by the Joint Operating Committee.
REPORTS TO: Administrative Director
SUPERVISES: Accounts Payable
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Establishes, directs, and supervised a system of control for budget execution and all financial accounting.
2. Establishes accounting systems, procedures, and codes necessary to provide Administration with accurate financial data for the basis of formulating policies and decisions.
3. Prepares the annual general fund budget based on information submitted by the staff and administration; presents the budget for review and adoption by the Joint Operating Committee.
4. Prepares all other proprietary fund budgets for the Career and Technology Center based on information submitted by the staff and Administration; presents such budgets for review and adoption by the Joint Operating Committee.
5. Researches all sources of revenue for the Career and Technology Center and assists Administration in preparing grant applications to secure new sources of revenue.
6. Prepares cost analysis reports concerning the operation of the Career and Technology Center.
7. Supervises and maintains financial record keeping for all state and federal grant programs; prepares and submits all necessary reports including quarterly and final reports as may be required; processes claims for reimbursement as necessary.
8. Assists in conducting the annual audit by answering questions, providing necessary data and information, preparing, and reconciling work papers and maintaining accurate and compete records.
9. Invest the funds of the Career and Technology Center in accordance with state law and policy to insure effective cash flow.
10. Maintains any construction funds and develops schedules for payments for construction projects in progress.
11. Prepares monthly reports for General Fund, Activity Fund, and all other funds necessary for Joint Operating Committee approval.
12. Supervises financial record keeping in accordance with state and federal laws and policy.
13. Reconciles Career and Technology Center bank accounts.
14. Reconciles Career and Technology Center financial reports.
15. Supervises and monitors preparation and distribution of all purchase orders; oversees all purchasing and bidding for the Career and Technology Center.
16. Organizes and supervises bidding of materials, equipment, and services.
17. Establishes and monitors the Career and Technology Center insurance program including property and casualty, liability, and other such insurance programs.
18. Communicates with the solicitor on legal matters related to non-instructional issues.
19. Performs all other duties pertinent to the Business Office as directed by the Administrative Director.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
This position is a part-time position. The applicant will work three (3) days per week for eight (8) hours each day. The opportunity for remote work will be considered.
