MEDICAL PROFESSIONS TEACHER
The York County School of Technology is seeking a professional, dynamic, and highly skilled instructor for our high school Medical Professions program. This position provides classroom and practical application instruction to students in grades 9-12 in the theory and skills of health and medical services, pharmaceutical and medical instruments, and supplies. This program includes instruction in areas such as:
• Medical Terminology
• Anatomy and Physiology
• Basic Nursing Skills and Clinical Practice
• Legal and Ethical Aspects of Health Care
• Clinical Laboratory Procedures
• Aseptic Techniques
• Rehabilitation and Restoration
• Clinical Skills
• Emergency Care
• OSHA Regulations
• Infection Control
This position requires teaching certification as follows:
• PA CTE Certification in Health Related Technology and/or Health Assistant
OR
• Candidates must possess one of the following credentials:
  -RN (2 or 4 year program) AND currently licensed as an RN in PA
-B.S. Medical Technology with ASCP Registry
-Bachelor's degree or higher with associated PA licensure:
Occupational Therapy
Physical Therapy
Chiropractor
Optometry
Pharmacy
Podiatry
Psychology
Doctor of Medicine
Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine

Candidates who do not already hold appropriate CTE teaching certification must also have a minimum of 4 years documented paid work experience in health care, preferably with a combination of diverse experiences the field. Candidates will need to complete the certification coursework program and testing requirements through Penn State to obtain vocational teacher certification. This process will take several years, but contracted teachers will be eligible for tuition reimbursement.
