Job Description: Effective March 2026, a vacancy for a long-term substitute Veterinary Science Teacher exists within the division of Career, Technical, & Customized Education at the Technical College High School Brandywine campus located at 443 Boot Road in Downingtown. This assignment anticipated to end in June 2027. An extension is possible but is not guaranteed.

Qualifications:
Candidates must be a Certified Veterinary Technician, be able to verify four (4) years of work experience as a Veterinary Technician, and must be willing to obtain Vocational Teacher Certification in Pennsylvania.
Current police, child abuse and FBI Fingerprint clearances required upon hire
Duties & Responsibilities:
– Provide quality occupational instruction to secondary career and technical students to prepare them for a successful career path.
– The Veterinary Sciences Instructor will prepare individuals, under the supervision of veterinarians, laboratory animal specialists, and zoological professionals, to provide patient management, care, and clinical procedures assistance as well as owner communication. Includes instruction in animal nursing care, animal health and nutrition, animal handling, clinical pathology, radiology, anesthesiology, surgical assisting, clinical laboratory procedures, office administration skills, patient and owner management, and applicable standards and regulations.
Salary Range (2025-2026 School Year):
$56,749 to $86,206 – Emergency/Intern Certification (coming in with industry experience)
$58,751 to $88,563 – Vocational I Teaching Certification
$61,300 to $92,110 – Vocational II Teaching Certification
$65,394 to $100,586 – Master’s Degree
$68,403 to $104,546 – Master’s +15
$69,938 to $106,442 – Master’s + 30
*Salary will be prorated based upon the length of the assignment
Schedule: 10 month, school year (194 days), Mon – Fri, 7.5 hours per day
