Job Description: QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must have a minimum of:
• Four years (8,000 hours) comprehensive wage-earning experience directly related to networking, cybersecurity,and/or IT infrastructure OR
• Teaching Certificate plus two years (2,000 hours) comprehensive wage-earning experience in one of the related fields listed above OR
• Bachelor’s Degree in Network Security, Cybersecurity, Digital Forensics, Network Administration or a related field plus two years (2,000 hours) comprehensive wage-earning experience in one fo the related fields listed above.
• Must have successfully passed the Occupational Competency Assessment or be willing to take the test and earn permanent certification (if they do not already have a Teaching Certificate).
• Industry certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Security+, CCNA, or equivalent are a plus.
• Experience with digital forensics is a plus.
REPORTS TO: Principal
WORK DAY: As outlined in the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA)
JOB GOAL To teach students in the CMAVTS Information Technology and Cybersecurity program and help them achieve the goals and objectives of that program.
PERFORMANCE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Instructing students in computer systems networking, information technology, and cybersecurity skills and topics from the PDE-approved Computer System Networking and Telecommunications Code 11.0901 program task grid.
2. Creating, updating and revising curriculum for the Information Technology and Cybersecurity program.
3. Teaching students how to use industry-standard tools, write in programming/scripting languages, and follow security protocols.
4. Demonstrating and showing students personal and environmental safety skills; computer hardware basics; troubleshooting, repair and maintenance; operating systems and software basics; network technologies; system design and analysis; configuration; network media and topologies; network devices; network management; network tools and troubleshooting; and security fundamentals,
5. Assigning student work, including projects, tests, quizzes and grading such work to assure students are gaining knowledge based on competencies listed on the 11.0901 program task grid.
6. Working with the school district to set goals and grading criteria for the Information Technology and Cybersecurity program.
7. Monitoring and assessing students progress and providing feedback to help them develop skills and competencies in the program.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Year-to-Year. Salary to be determined by the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
