Job Description: The Franklin County Career & Technology Center (FCCTC) is seeking a full-time HVAC Instructor for secondary education. FCCTC has students from 10th-12th grade.
FCCTC is seeking a knowledgeable and hands-on HVAC Adult Education Instructor to teach students in 10th -12th grade the fundamentals and practical applications of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. This course is designed to introduce students to core HVAC concepts while building real-world troubleshooting and repair skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Instruct students in the troubleshooting and repair of refrigeration-based processing equipment
Introduce foundational principles of refrigeration systems
Teach the concepts of temperature, humidity, and heat transfer, including conduction of heat
Provide an overview of other HVAC systems, including heating, ventilation, and air conditioning applications
Deliver engaging, practical, and safety-focused instruction suited for high school learners
Evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback
Maintain a safe and effective learning environment
Qualifications:
Minimum four years of full-time, wage-earning work experience is required
Preference will be given to candidates who possess a teaching certification or who have passed the Occupational Competency Exam. Selected candidate must be able to take classes toward their Vocational Instructor certification and pass the Occupational Competency Exam.Starting pay: $55,000.00 – $75,000.00 per year based on experience/education.
Candidate must have one of the following:
Four years wage-earning experience in the occupation to be taught; or
Two years wage-earning experience in the occupation to be taught and hold a bachelor’s degree; or
Four years full-time experience teaching post-secondary courses at a regionally accredited institution of higher education in the occupation to be taught;
