Job Description: Under direction of the school principal and Career and Technical Education (CTE) Executive Director and supervisor, the Health Careers Teacher plans and provides for appropriate learning experiences for students, provides an atmosphere and environment conducive to the intellectual, physical, social and emotional development of students, supervises students in a variety of school-related settings, monitors and evaluates student outcomes, and communicates and interacts with students, parents, staff and community.
The Health Careers Technology program is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills that are the foundation for a variety of allied health careers. Students will learn anatomy, medical terminology, legal and ethical issues in health care, communication skills, and human development. Students learn to perform basic clinical skills, personal care skills, and allied health skills used in the medical office. Students will earn certifications in BLS for Health Care Providers and OSHA.
