Job Description: Job Description: Anticipated full-time position beginning Spring 2025. Position includes delivering instruction to high school age students using the Commercial and Advertising Art task grid (CIP 50.0402) Program of Study.
Program Description
A program in the applied visual arts that prepares individuals to use artistic techniques to effectively communicate ideas and information to business and consumer audiences via illustrations and other forms of printed media. Includes instruction in concept design; layout; drawing and illustration; painting; collage and computer graphics; digital photography; typography; color theory; operate/manage/maintain laser printers, large format printers, vinyl cutter, and large laminators.
Candidate must have the following qualifications:
Required – Minimum of 4 years’ trade experience in all phases of commercial and advertising art including:
Applied visual arts using artistic techniques to effectively communicate ideas and information to business and consumer audiences via illustrations and other forms of printed media, and Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign).
Required – High School Diploma
Preferred – Experience with Adobe Premier Pro and Google Classroom
Preferred – Bachelor of Arts/graphic design
Preferred – Bachelor of Art Education
Duties and Responsibilities:
Good human relations and written/verbal communication skills required.
Ability to relate well with young people in a supportive role.
Working knowledge of computer applications. Keeping current with software updates.
Provide quality occupational instruction to secondary career and technical students to prepare them for a successful career path in the fields of Commercial Art.
Duties include program development and modifying curriculum to remain current and effective instruction and supervision of all students.
Build professional relationships with local business and industry partners to establish co-op opportunities for students.
Maintain appropriate professional certificates and licenses as required.
Willingness to pursue teaching certification and professional development activities to enhance the program as well as self.
Possess excellent communication skills.
