Job Description: The York County School of Technology is seeking a professional educator for our new Future K-12 Teacher Development program for the 2023-2024 school year. As a comprehensive, full-time technical high school, York Tech provides 26 CTE program options as well academic coursework for students in grades 9-12. We serve a diverse population of 1700 students from 14 sending school districts in York County. We are a comprehensive full-time high school and offer a full athletic program, a wide variety of student organizations and clubs, and cooperative education opportunities.
This technical program is part of the pathway program with Early Childhood Education and will develop and prepare current high school students to enter the field of education and be successful in entering a post-secondary teacher certification program. The program focuses on the general theory and practice of learning and teaching, the basic principles of educational psychology, the art of teaching, the planning and implementation of educational activities, school safety and health issues, and the social foundations of education.
Candidates must hold a Pennsylvania teaching certificate in one of the following areas:
• Agriculture PK-12
• BCIT PK-12
• Citizenship Education 7-12
• Computer Science 7-12
• English or Communications 7-12
• Environmental Education PK-12
• Family and Consumer Science PK-12
• Health Education PK-12
• Health and Physical Education PK-12
• Marketing (Distributive) Education PK-12
• Mathematics 7-12
• Reading Specialist PK-12
• Science 7-12 – Biology, Chemistry, Earth/Space, General, or Physics
• Social Studies or Social Science 7-12
• Special Education PK-12
• Technology Education PK-12
