Engineering & Robotics Instructor

Delaware County Technical High Schools has an anticipated opening available for an Engineering & Robotics Instructor.  We seek a highly organized, self-motivated individual with excellent written and verbal communication skills who has experience and the desire to work with teenagers.

 

Successful candidate will provide rigorous curriculum that aligns with PDE's CTE SOAR Program Task List – Engineering Technologies/Technicians CIP 15.9999 and:

• Demonstrate mastery of related subject matter, instructional skills, and resource materials for program of study taught
• Create lesson plans, aligned with current state and district standards, which drives instruction through formative assessment and differentiation
• Maintain a safe, organized classroom, which supports students’ independent learning, collaboration and choice
• Utilize a variety of effective instructional and management techniques
• Provide a variety of assessments and uses assessments for planning and instruction
• Provide consistent, immediate feedback to student learning and asks analytical questions that elicit students’ responses that incorporate prior knowledge, life experience
• Monitor and maintain a positive classroom environment that supports the school wide behavior expectation in which most students are engaged, incorporates mutual respect and provides cooperative learning opportunities
• Use available technology/instructional media to enhance the students’ learning experiences
• Establishes and maintains appropriate relationships with students, parents, staff, and community members by communicating in a tactful, courteous, and confidential manner
• Appropriately communicate and interact with other professional staff in academic planning and school committee work
• Attend and participate in staff meetings and extra-curricular/school related activities and committees
• Demonstrate a commitment to continuous professional growth and works with administrator to formulate and complete professional development plans
• Maintain a professional appearance, and demonstrates behavior that is conscientious and responsible
• Engage parents and guardians in the education of their children
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the school administrator

 

In addition:

Successful candidate must have a Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) Technology Education Instructional Certification ORbe willing to earn a Vocational II teaching certificate as required by PDE, if candidate is not currently PDE certified.

 

NOTE: If seeking the Vocational II teaching certification, a minimum of four (4) years of proven/documented industry experience in Engineering is a mandatory requirement per PDE regulations for employment and certification.
