Job Description: Electrical Technology Instructor (CIP CODE: 46.0399) – Middle Bucks Institute of Technology (MBIT) is seeking a qualified, student-centered professional to serve as an Electrical Technology Instructor. This position offers the opportunity to lead a dynamic program that prepares students for careers in the electrical industry. The ideal candidate will bring substantial industry experience, a passion for teaching, and a commitment to delivering hands-on, real-world instruction aligned with local workforce needs and career readiness goals.
About the Program:
Our Electrical Technology Program is a nationally recognized Residential Construction Academy (RCA) accredited instructional program, in conjunction with the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and the Home Builders Institute (HBI), that prepares students with the skills and knowledge necessary for a career in the electrical industry. The program of study covers a variety of topics necessary for student success, including how to lay out, assemble, install, operate, maintain, test and repair residential, commercial, and industrial systems, DC and AC motors, generators, transformers, controls, programmable logic controllers, electrical distribution panels, and installation and maintenance of service wiring, and distribution networks.
Students have the opportunity to earn industry recognized certifications, including American Ladder Institute Safety Training, C-Tech Introduction to Network Cabling in Copper Based Systems and Fiber Based Systems, and PBA Skills Certificate.
• Term of Employment: Full-time (10 Months), permanent
• Compensation: Per MBEA Teachers’ Contract

Responsibilities:
• Provide high-quality, competency-based instruction to prepare students with pre-professional experiences in the electrical industry, and related fields.
• Develop and deliver lessons incorporating safety, employability skills, academic integration, and industry standards.
• Maintain a safe, organized classroom/lab environment, including implementation of essential laboratory safety rules.
• Engage students in hands-on learning experiences that reflect real-world scenarios in the electrical industry.
• Build and maintain strong professional relationships with industry partners to enhance student learning and potential cooperative education opportunities.
• Maintain accurate student records, assessment data, and grading in accordance with school policy.
• Provide supervision and guidance to students, fostering professionalism and leadership through Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) activities.
Required Qualifications:
• Pennsylvania teacher certification in the assigned teaching area OR eligibility to pursue certification.
• Minimum of four (4) years, preferably seven (7) years, of occupational experience in the electrical industry.
• Computer proficiency and familiarity with current instructional technology.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Teaching experience in a career and technical education setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience integrating industry-recognized certifications into instruction.
