Job Description: At the current time, a vacancy exists for a full-time Electrical Occupations Instructor within the Career, Technical, & Customized Education division of the Chester County Intermediate Unit, located at TCHS Pickering in Phoenixville, PA. The CCIU is currently offering a sign on bonus of up to $1,500 for candidates who apply and are subsequently hired for a permanent position (full-time or part-time) between March 16, 2023, and October 31, 2023. More information will be shared with eligible individuals at the time of hire.

Qualifications:

Possess valid Pennsylvania Department of Education Vocational I or II Certificate (Electrical Construction/Maintenance, Electrical Industrial, or Electrical, General) OR be willing to enroll in a PDE approved certification program to obtain certification upon hire
Possess appropriate industry certifications related to electrical occupations, OR have successfully completed appropriate Occupational Competency Assessment
Minimum of four (4) years of industry experience in the field of Electrical Occupations required
Special Education experience, preferred
Current child abuse, criminal history, and FBI Fingerprint clearance required upon hire
Program Overview:

The Electrical Occupations program prepares individuals to apply technical knowledge and skills necessary to install, operate, maintain and repair electrically-energized residential, commercial and industrial systems, DC and AC motors, controls, and electrical distribution panels. Instruction emphasizes practical application of circuit diagrams and use of electrical codes and includes blueprint reading, sketching and other subjects essential for employment in the electrical occupations. Reading and interpretation of commercial and residential construction wiring codes and specifications, installation and maintenance of wiring, service and distribution networks within large construction complexes are also critical components of the program. Students will be provided with an understanding of safety, the handling of power tools, how to navigate a jobsite, and an in depth undertanding of electricity.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Provide quality occupational instruction to secondary career and technical students at TCHS Pickering to prepare them for a successful career path in Electrical Occupations.
Program development and modifying curriculum to remain current and up-to-date.
Maintain student data, including progress monitoring of IEP goals, student grades, etc. in student data system.
Effective supervision of all students at TCHS – Pickering.
Maintenance of appropriate professional certificates and licenses as required.
Other assignments as requested by the principal or designee.

Salary (2023-2024 School Year):

$53,277 – $84,228 – Emergency Certification (Industry experience, but no Instructional certification)
$54,981 – $86,531 – Instructional I/ Vocational I Certification
$57,379 – $89,997 – Instructional II/Vocational II Certification
$59,021 – $94,135 – Vocational II + 15
$51,041 – $98,278 – Master's Degree
$63,691 – $102,147 – Master's + 15
$65,079 – $103,999 – Masters + 30
**Placement on the above scales is determined by industry experience, education and certification
