Job Description: The Berks Career and Technology Center (BCTC) is searching for a full-time Educational Facilitator at our East Campus to start at the beginning of the 2023-2024 school year.

Qualifications: Must hold a PA teaching certificate in Special Education K-12 or qualifications to obtain such certification. Must have experience with teaching students with disabilities and have a working knowledge of PA standards, regulations, and federal legislation as it relates to IDEA. Experience in assisting staff to modify instructional practices to accommodate students’ individual learning needs as described in the IEP under specially designed instruction. Must possess a valid PA driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record.
Position Goal: Serve as BCTC’s primary point of contact with assigned school districts coordinating resources and support the educational process for each student enrolled at BCTC. Will coordinate and facilitate mandated special education laws and procedures and foster collaboration and communication between parents, students, and staff regarding student assessment and programming. Will provide assistance to teachers in the development, monitoring, and adaptation of curriculum and instructional practices to better address the learning needs of students in accordance with their IEP.
Work schedule: Contracted days are congruent with the approved school year calendar. The normal workday is Monday – Friday, 7:30 am to 3:15 pm, 7 ¾ hours. The day includes a 30-minute duty free lunch. 10-months (190 days/year). This includes six (6) evening functions per school year equaling three (3) contractual workdays). Two days per month, there will be up to an additional fifteen (15) minutes added to the workday for faculty meetings. Additional days beyond the contracted year may be required and based on JOC Board approval.
