Job Description: The Dover Area School District wishes to announce that we are accepting applications for the following anticipated opening:
Position: Director, Career and Technical Education
The Director of Career and Technical Education collaborates with the Superintendent and High School Principal to provide leadership for the development, implementation, and coordination of the district’s career and technical education programming and services (Grades K-12). Job Duties included but not limited to:
1. Formulate and administer a comprehensive, modern program of career and technical education curricula.
2. Maintain close working relationships with community and state agencies, local secondary and post-secondary education institutions, business and industry, and elected officials.
3. Serve as the District liaison for the YCAL.
4. Prepare and administer the Career and Technical Education budget.
5. Make recommendations for adjustments to Career and Technical Education programs to meet employment trends.
6. Assist in the recruitment and screening of Career and Technical Education teachers.
7. Advise and assist in obtaining state and federal funds for Career and Technical Education and related programs.
8. Regularly update district and program information in the Career and Technical System (CATs).
9. Lead preparation for Career and Technical Education 339 Audit and Perkins Audit.
10. Collect, review, and submit reports related to Career and Technical Education to state and federal agencies.
11. Supervise and evaluate all instructional personnel assigned to Career and Technical Education programs.
12. Conduct annual local advisory committee meetings; ensure occupational advisory committees meet as needed.
13. Coordinate local, state, and national assessment programs that support career and technical education, including industry certification.
14. Lead the professional learning program for Career and Technical Education teachers.
15. Advocate for and communicate about Career and Technical Education programs to all stakeholders.
16. Create and maintain a maintenance and replacement plan for equipment related to the Career and Technical Education Programs.
17. Support the High School principal with daily operations as needed and practicable.
18. Fulfill other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.
Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in Education
• Administrative Certification (Principal)
and
Career and Technical Administrative Director Certification (Grade 7 -12) or willingness/ability to gain certification through PDE
• Minimum of 5 years of classroom teaching experience at the secondary level.
