Job Description: Under the supervision of the CTE Executive Director, the CTE Supervisor perform duties assigned by the to ensure the efficient operation of the career and technical education offerings at Pittsburgh Public Schools (PPS).
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Supervision of CTE programs and electives in middle and high schools.
• Supervision/assisting instructors in the curriculum development/implementation process.
• Oversight and Monitoring of all teachers’ lesson plans.
• Observation and evaluation of CTE teachers.
• Monitoring the integration of core academics into Career and Technical Education offerings.
• Assisting with implementation of the Superintendent’s Strategic Plan.
• Assisting with the recruitment and selection of applicants for CTE staff positions.
• Assisting with the development of policies, proposals and procedures.
• Develop, attend, and facilitate all staff-related professional development sessions.
• Maintaining open lines of communication with school principals, academic counselors, and career counselors.
• Maintaining data on CTE program industry certifications.
• Developing and coordinate post-secondary articulation agreements and dual enrollment.
Supporting Occupational Advisory Committees.
• Maintaining active membership and participation in professional organizations as recommended by the Executive Director.
• Representing the Executive Director when directed to do so.
• Coordinating professional development learning opportunities for teachers.
• Working with teachers to coordinate student internships and job shadowing experiences.
• Coordinating teacher NOCTI preparation for all CTE programs.
