The Career and Technical Center of the State College Area School District is currently accepting applications for a Computer Networking Teacher. The District seeks diverse, dynamic, compassionate, and energetic educators who are student-focused and have knowledge of both theory and practice specific to education related to operating systems and applications; system design and analysis; networking theory and solutions; types of networks; network management and control; network and flow optimization; security; configuring; and troubleshooting. 

 

This CTC program is approved through PDE as Computer Systems Networking and Telecommunications (CIP Code: 11.0901).  This program focuses on the design, implementation and management of linked systems of computers, peripherals and associated software to maximize efficiency and productivity, and prepares the individuals to function as network specialists and managers at various levels.

 

The successful candidate must demonstrate a commitment to diversity and recognize equity and inclusivity as the foundations to prepare each student for lifelong success, our mission.  Organizational and collaborative skills are critical to success in this position. The District is searching for candidates who demonstrate a commitment to professional growth and also possess a variety of professional experiences.  The successful candidate must either possess a current PA Career and Technical / Instructional 2600 Certification in Network Systems Technology, or the ability to obtain it within 4 years. A college degree is not required for this position, but the successful candidate must possess a minimum of four years wage-earning experience in the computer networking field.
