RESPONSIBLE TO: ADMINISTRATIVE DIRECTOR
LOCATION: ALL CAMPUSES

JOB SUMMARY
Contributes to the overall communications department functions and responsibilities, specifically managing the use of digital channels including social media accounts, emails, website, and other digital platforms. Shares in the responsibility of coordinating and executing timely, accurate, proactive, and relevant communications that achieve the district’s goals of informing and engaging internal and external stakeholders. Must be both a strong team player and comfortable being tasked with completing projects independently.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES/SKILLS/FUNCTIONS

• Responsible for updating and maintaining the Lancaster County Career and Technology website,
ensuring compliance with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).
• Build, organize, and maintain an image bank of school events and activities to use on school web
pages, in print publications, social media, and other promotional pieces.
• Create/cultivate, schedule, post, and monitor content on district social channels and other district
digital communication platforms.
• Provide regular reports of social and digital media performance against goals.
• Maintain online district-wide calendar and coordinate annual activity dates and calendar updates.
• Writes press releases, articles, blog content, and other communications.
• Design, place, and monitor district advertisements (print/social/digital channels).
• Coordinate printing and mailing of district publications.
• Assist in the coordination, promotion, and execution of district-wide special events as needed.
• Compile and maintain print and digital archives of relevant media coverage and district publications.
• Collaborate with building administration and support staff to develop and update handbooks and
guides for individual school buildings.
• Responsible for preparing content and layout of regularly-scheduled internal district-wide
publications.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Administrative Director or designee.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• BA/BS in Communications, Marketing, or related degree required
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience working in communications, social media, digital
communications or related field
• Strong technical skills
• Passion for developing engaging content for a variety of internal and external audiences
• Social media experience required (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube) along with
experience
• Knowledge of web content management system preferred
• Experience with graphic design programs (Adobe Creative Suite)
• Knowledge of or experience using video and photo editing software
• Microsoft Office, Google Docs experience
• Must possess excellent interpersonal skills
• Must be able to work in an environment with frequent interruptions
• Must be cooperative, congenial, and service-oriented
• Must be able to keep sensitive information confidential
• Ability to follow written and verbal directions
• Ability to read, write, and proofread
• Ability to communicate effectively
