DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The primary goal of the Aspiring Educators Teacher is to enhance the educational experience of students at NWCTC, by bridging the gap between classroom instruction and student-teacher practicum experiences in the content area for each student. Provide quality teacher preparation instruction to secondary career and technical students to prepare them for a successful career path in the field of education. The program focuses on the general theory and practice of learning and teaching, the basic principles of educational psychology, the art of teaching, the planning and administration of educational activities, school safety and health issues, and the social foundations of education. Duties include program development and modifying curriculum to remain current and effective instruction and supervision of all students. Build professional relationships with local school districts and childcare facilities to establish potential work sites for students. Maintain appropriate professional certificates and licenses as required. Willingness to pursue professional development activities to enhance the program as well as self. Possess excellent communication skills. Capable of fulfilling all job responsibilities as indicated in the NWCTC Teacher Job Description.
