Job Title: Anticipated Vacancy Health Related Technology Instructor

Job Description: The successful candidate will teach high school students enrolled in the Health Related Technology program designed to prepare students for entry-level employment in a variety of health care occupations under the supervision of licensed health care professionals. Instruction includes classroom theory, hands-on laboratory experiences, and clinical experiences aligned with current healthcare industry standards and workforce expectations. The curriculum provides students with foundational knowledge in anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, healthcare ethics and law, communications, patient care, and a variety of entry-level clinical and administrative skills. Students explore career pathways including nursing assisting, medical assisting, home health aide, and other allied health professions for success in the healthcare field.
Responsibilities include:
• Deliver high-quality instruction in anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, healthcare careers, medical ethics, patient care, infection control, nutrition, first aid, and related healthcare content.
• Develop and implement lesson plans that integrate healthcare theory, clinical skills, and real-world applications aligned with current industry standards.
• Provide instruction and supervision during laboratory and clinical learning experiences while reinforcing patient safety, confidentiality, and professional healthcare practices.
• Teach students entry-level administrative healthcare skills including medical office procedures, scheduling, documentation, and office management.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and industry-standard healthcare laboratory environment while ensuring compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and other applicable safety and confidentiality requirements.
• Collaborate with healthcare partners, clinical sites, advisory committee members, colleagues, and administration to support program growth and alignment with regional workforce needs.
• Prepare students for industry-recognized certifications and entry-level employment opportunities within the healthcare field.
• Participate in professional development and school-wide initiatives.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of four (4) years of recent, relevant industry experience in nursing, medical assisting, allied health, or another related healthcare profession required. Experience in a clinical healthcare settings is preferred.
• Current Pennsylvania Registered Nurse (RN) license preferred. Other qualified healthcare professionals with appropriate industry experience will be considered.
• Willingness to obtain Pennsylvania Department of Education Career & Technical Instructional Certification (tuition reimbursement available).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, a commitment to student success, and the ability to manage a hands-on learning environment are essential.
