PACTA is pleased to announce the 2024 State Advocacy Day and Technical School Education Day on Tuesday, April 9, 2024.
The State Advocacy Day will begin with a breakfast meeting from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. for PACTA members attending the day. Technical School Education Day events will be from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the East Wing of the Pennsylvania Capitol Building. Senator David Argall, Chair, Senate Education Committee, will be hosting the event.
2024 STATE ADVOCACY DAY
PACTA will start the day at 8:00 a.m. at the Capitol Complex with a breakfast meeting (Room 8E-B), where legislative packets will be distributed. Following the PACTA breakfast meeting at 9:00 a.m., Senator David Argall will begin Technical School Education Day with remarks in the Rotunda. Attendees can then proceed to their legislative visits. Additionally, there will be CTCs/schools exhibiting in the rotunda as part of Technical School Education Day.
We have an opportunity this year to see a funding increase for career and technical education as well as legislation passed that will have a positive impact on career and technical education. We urge all of you to invite Advisory Committee members, JOC members, students, and other supporters of CTE to participate with you in this event. Legislative talking points will be provided prior to Advocacy Day.

TECHNICAL SCHOOL EDUCATION DAY

Your students are invited to participate in a unique opportunity to showcase their technical school education to an audience of Pennsylvania legislators. Technical School Education Day, sponsored by Senator David Argall, will take place on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the East Wing of the Pennsylvania Capitol Building, Harrisburg. Lunch vouchers, sponsored by PACTA, will be available for students and educators participating in the exhibits.

ACCOMMODATIONS
A block of rooms for 2024 State Advocacy Day participants has been reserved at the Crowne Plaza Harrisburg-Hershey for the evening of April 8, 2024. The Crowne Plaza is located at 23 South Second Street, Harrisburg, PA 17101. Individuals are responsible for making their own hotel reservations. The flat room rate is $139.
